Logic Based Therapy

About Us

The India Centre for Logic-Based-Therapy and Consultation is established under the MOU between Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College and Logic Based Therapy and Consultation Institute, USA. (https://www.philosophicalpractice.net)

Logic-Based –Therapy (LBT) is a leading methodology of Philosophical Counselling aimed at helping the clients their specific, identifiable problems arising within ordinary life or work-contexts. The mission of this Centre is to provide proper training and certification to individuals to become LBT practitioners. Our Centre is the only one in India to offer primary certification in Logic based therapy and consultation.

Philosophical Counseling

Philosophical counseling also known as Philosophical practice or philosophical consultancy makes use of training in philosophy for giving insights into ‘how to live a good life’ and resolve problems of living.

The Logic based Therapy is a leading modality of philosophical counseling. Logic-Based Therapy (LBT) is offspring to Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) developed by psychologist Albert Ellis in the 1950’s. Dr. Ellis’ vision had been to cultivate a form of therapy enlightened by philosophy and logic. The Institute, founded in 1985, seeks to develop Dr. Ellis’ philosophical insights in the form of a logic-based framework that supports applications of diverse philosophical theories to a wide variety of problems clients face. National Philosophical Counseling Association (NPCA) Certified Logic-Based Therapists are also licensed mental health practitioners, who may therefore diagnose and treat mental disorders. Logic-Based Consultation (LBC) refers to the use of the Logic-Based framework by NPCA Certified Logic-Based Consultants to help clients address specific, identifiable problems arising within ordinary life or work contexts.  These philosophical practitioners have the minimum of an earned masters degree in philosophy and hold a NPCA Certificate in LBC.  They do not treat, diagnose, or offer remedies or cures to mental disorders. Message from HOD & Assistant Professor

It gives me immense pleasure to be a part of the India Centre for Logic-Based-Therapy. The key intent of Philosophy is to make human lives better by making us more rational. Promoting training in Logic-Based-Therapy is a step towards achieving the same. I urge my fellow colleagues and students to be a part of this noble initiative. With this training, the possibilities are endless and benifits are manifold! This collaboration with Logic-Based-Therapy and Consultation Institute, USA  revives India back to being a land where Philosophy is not just a mental exercise, but a way of life!
