Library

About US

The Library was established in 1937 along with the college. Previously situated on second floor, the Library was shifted to ground floor in 1993 due to excessive structural weightage. It was completely renovated during 2014-2016 with mainly the generous donation by renowned industrialist and Ruia alumnus Mr. Arun Meghani in memory of his father whom the Library is named after.

Enriched with more than 1.36 lakh print books and back volumes of periodicals, and subscription to 88 national and international journals, the Library is fully computerized in all its operations. Based on the criterion of usage, the collection is segregated uniquely in ‘Active’ and ‘Passive’; and arranged subject-wise using Colon Classification scheme. Library also houses distinguished collection of 5500+ rare books and 250+ rare Manuscripts. Significantly, the Library is 3-times recipient of the National Archives of India grant for digitization of its rare collection.

Message from Librarian

Welcome to Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College’s Dr. P. D. Meghani Library. We have been serving the Ruia patrons since year 1937. Being an academic library, though the collection is primarily study-related, we are very keen in acquiring classics and award-winning leisure reads as well. Reading different genres of fiction and nonfiction is equally important as the prescribed textbooks and reference sources. It enriches not just the vocabulary but the overall personality. See you in the Library!
