Q. What is the scope of the Course?
Ans.

The student Graduating in Biotechnology can pursue a career in further studies like M.Sc. In Biotechnology from India & Abroad, M.B.A from India & Abroad, Diploma in Intellectual property rights, Diploma in Clinical Research, MS in Biology, Though the students might get a job as Medical representative, as a quality control and quality assurance chemist however higher studies are recommended. Post Graduate students have opportunities in Pharma industry, Data analysis or clinical research industries, academia, food industry, Research Institutes, R&D departments of different industries.

Q. Is there any entrance examination for admission?
Ans.

As of yet the admission is on merit basis for both UG and PG courses. However if there is any change w.r.t this I will inform students in advance.

Q. Is it a BSC or a B.Tech Course?
Ans.

This is a BSC Biotechnology course and not a B.Tech course.

Q. What is the duration of this course?
Ans.

As per NEP, from 2023 it is a 4 year course. However, given below are the exit option for the students:

Exit After FYBSC - award of UG certificate in Major with 44 credits and an additional 4 credit Core NSQF course/ Internship or Continue with Major and Minor.

Exit After SYBSC- award of UG Diploma in Major with 88 credits and an additional 4 credit Core NSQF course/ Internship or Continue with Major and Minor.

Exit After TYBSC- award of UG Degree in Major with 132 credits or Continue with Major for Honours.

Q. Is it compulsory for a student to have Mathematics as a subject in 12th Class, to be eligible for admission in BSC. Biotechnology Course?
Ans.

Maths is compulsory to be admitted in the BSC course. The students who did not opt for Maths during their HSC, ought to attend a bridge course in mathematics conducted by college, appear for this bridge course exam and clear it.

Q. Is it compulsory for a student to have Biology as a subject in 12th Class, to be eligible for admission in BSC. Biotechnology Course?
Ans.

Biology is compulsory to take admission in BSC Biotechnology course.
