Yoga Club

Introduction


‘Yoga’ consisting of various physical, mental and spiritual practices has been used for self-awareness, self-control and self-regulation. It is found to be beneficial in the treatment and also prevention of various physical as well as psychological disorders. The Yoga Club was introduced in Ruia College in the year 2023 to introduce students to the practice of yoga and its benefits.

The Club aims at introducing students to the practice of Yoga and thereby have an hands-on experience about the same.

The Induction Program is introduced to all the students so that they are introduced to the Yoga Club. However thereafter it is voluntary participation.

Message from Yoga Club

Inability to handle Anxiety, worry, stress and depression are some of the common experiences of the youths today. They are also victims of several physical and psychological disorders. Yoga is one of the modalities for treatment and prevention of several physical and psychological disorders. The practice of different forms of yoga has benefitted human beings in different ways – some of them being bringing about stillness of mind, increasing their ability to focus and concentrate and also in bringing about better understanding of self. We therefore think that it is necessary to introduce students to this measure of self-awareness and self-development which is deep rooted in the culture of India. Introducing it to them will provide them with one of the tools to well-being and self-development.
