Green Club

Introduction

Established in 2023 amidst the backdrop of depleting groundwater resources in India and Maharashtra, the Ruia Green Club recognizes the urgent need for sustainable solutions. This critical issue profoundly impacts the livelihoods of citizens, particularly those in vulnerable areas, emphasizing the imperative for a paradigm shift towards resource efficiency and local skill development beyond traditional classroom teaching. Acknowledging recent governmental efforts such as the National Education Policy 2020 and Mission LiFE, as well as initiatives like Jal Yukt Shivar and Mazi Vasundhara, the Ruia Green Club is committed to mobilizing youth towards water conservation and environmental stewardship. Through collaborative action with partners like UNICEF Maharashtra, ACWADAM, CEE, and Why Waste?, we aim to empower students with the skills and knowledge necessary to address pressing environmental challenges, shaping a sustainable future for Maharashtra.

Our Mission

The Ruia Green Club's mission is grounded in the belief that "We need the Blue to keep the Green." In a world where sustainability is paramount, our mission is clear: to safeguard our planet's precious greenery, we must first prioritize and protect its vast blue expanses. From the depths of the oceans to the flow of our rivers, the vitality of our ecosystems relies on the preservation of our waters. By cherishing and conserving water in every way possible, we ensure the nourishing and flourishing of the forests, helping them to become lush green like they were before. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond land-based conservation efforts; it encompasses the preservation and responsible stewardship of our water resources. Join us in our dedication to sustainability, where every drop of blue sustains the vibrant hues of our shared future. Together, as youths, we can safeguard the balance of our planet's delicate ecosystems for generations to come.

  3. Making of Green Club banner out of cotton cloth and hand painting it, to make it more sustainable.
  4. Using fallen almond leaves to make flashcards for a game session instead of paper.
  5. Felicitation of our speakers by giving the native tree saplings (True Ashoka) in earthen pots.
  6. Installation of unique “Bee hotel” made from waste materials to protect and conserve solitary bee species.
