The Subject of Biochemistry started in the year 1999 and the Department of Biochemistry was established in the year 2004. It’s the oldest centre offering single major Biochemistry (6 Units) at the Under-Graduation and Post-Graduation level. The Department has been offering an Add –on Advanced Diploma in Food Science and Quality Control since past 15 years. Our students and staff members have published their research work in renowned National and International Research Journals. Under the auspices of autonomy, we have introduced the research component as a part of the curriculum at the SYBSc level.
