Brief Description of Department

Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College with almost eight decades of experience in higher education and training and with the strong industry-academia linkages. It is the first college in the city of Mumbai to be granted permission by UGC to start a KAUSHAL Centre in August 2015.

B.Voc. Green House Management is recognized by the University of Mumbai as well as by the UGC. The course is introduced under the flagship of DeenDayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL Kendra, National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF, level 5-7). The aim is to ensure that the Higher Education system incorporate the requirements of various Industries in an innovative and flexible manner, to ensure that the graduates have adequate knowledge and skills for Employment and Entrepreneurship.

The students are assessed by the Agriculture Skill Council, Govt. of India on regular basis and are awarded certificates accordingly.

The course has been designed with the purpose to bridge the skill gap between the curriculum and Industry requirements thus increasing the scope of employability. The course is carried out in consultation with Industry partners who are involved in curriculum designing, expert lectures, providing trainings and internships.

This course offers multiple exit points as well as entry points at different levels –

  • Diploma (1 Year)
  • Advanced Diploma (2 Years)
  • B.Voc Degree in Green House Management (3 years)

Eligibility being 12th pass or equivalent from any discipline with no age bar. It is possible to take direct admission to the Advance Diploma level if the candidate has completed Diploma in Horticulture/ Agriculture
